Excited to be part of an amazing group of artists, musicians and writers at my favorite (I admit a bit of bias since my own kids attend school here) elementary school's showcase of the arts. Looking forward to talking with the kids about how to write a book - and seeing what ideas they have to share!

Guest Presentation and Book Signing

The Big Baby Bash and Toddler Jam

I'll be presenting ideas, resources, and secrets for getting out to explore the city with kids during the Big Baby Bash and Toddler Jam. Book signing will follow until 2:00 pm. The event is a great resource for prenatal (events on Saturday) to preschool (events on Sunday) parents with informative seminars, exhibitors, workshops and hands-on demos from nationally-renowned and local experts. Free food, raffle items, and a concert by Staci Gray!

The Texas Book Festival runs all day Saturday and Sunday, October 25th-26th. I'll be signing copies on Sunday and am so excited to be part of it! My two adventurers will be there with me, so you can get it triple-signed. Come say hi!

Storytime and Book Signing

Owls, bats, and cats—Oh my! Join Annette Lucksinger, author of Exploring Austin with Kids, and Tracy King Perry, licensed Zumbini Instructor, as they explore creatures that fly, creep, and swoop at night. This free storytime and dance party at The Rhythm Studio will be followed by a cute bat craft and a book signing. The event is best for littles 6 months through 5 years and their caregivers. Space is limited, so please pre-register.

Earth Day Celebration

The college campus is not just for big kids. On Earth Day, St. Edward’s University invites everyone - big and little - to come celebrate! Exploring Austin with Kids will be there with children’s activities and books, alongside booths filled with cool ideas for being environmentally-friendly stewards. Bring a picnic to eat beneath tall oak trees overlooking the cityscape and soak in your “place in space.”

Come on out to Westcave Preserve for guided hikes, bird tours, nature activities and BBQ (or bring your own picnic)! Annette Lucksinger will be signing books and crafting cardboard binoculars with the kids so they can get a better view of the Warbler and waterfalls along the trail. For each copy sold, $5 goes back to the Preserve. $10/adult, kids free.
