Can You Still Explore in a Pandemic?

Yes! Here are some ways:

1) Get outside -- where it’s easy to social distance!
Pull out your Exploring Austin with Kids guidebook or open the app. Then check out the Table of Contents "by interest” section for places to do these activities:

Hiking

Fishing

Camping

Nature walks

Wandering

Bird watching

Biking

Field trips

Farmers markets

Zoos

Parks

Creek play

2) Get creative.

Lots of Austin shops – from toy stores and treats to bookstores and venues – are putting a new spin on fun. Pick up toys and books curbside or make an appointment for a personal shopper or a time to shop without crowds, have ice cream and milkshakes delivered to your door, watch a drive-in movie. Look for ways local owners are trying to make it work, safely, and offer your support to moms and pops!

3) Try something new.

Little changes can keep life fresh and wondrous. Try a new ice cream flavor, pick out a new park, take up a hobby you’ve been wanting to learn, create a covid-friendly bucket list and start checking places off. Add them to your quarantine journal.
